Twenty years ago, on May 28, 1997, Borussia Dortmund made history by becoming the first German club to win the UEFA Champions League. Facing off against Italian giants Juventus in the final, BVB emerged victorious with a 3-1 scoreline.

Karl-Heinz Riedle opened the scoring for Dortmund in the 29th minute, before Lars Ricken doubled their lead just before halftime. Juventus fought back after the break with a goal from Alessandro Del Piero, but Lars Ricken sealed the win for BVB with his second goal in the 70th minute.
