WEBster County, MO – Nicholas Godejohn, the boyfriend of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the June 2015 death of Gypsy's mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. The verdict was handed down by a jury in Webster County, Missouri, on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole after being convicted of second-degree murder in 2016. She admitted to helping plan the murder of her mother, but claimed that she was abused by Dee Dee and that she feared for her life.

Godejohn was arrested in June 2015 after he and Gypsy Rose Blanchard were found living together in Wisconsin. He initially claimed that he had killed Dee Dee Blanchard in self-defense, but he later changed his plea to guilty.

The trial lasted for two weeks and featured testimony from numerous witnesses, including Gypsy Rose Blanchard herself. The jury deliberated for less than two hours before reaching a verdict.

Godejohn's sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 8, 2019. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
