Dortmund Stumble in Champions League Opener, Held 1-1 by PSG

Subpar Performance Leaves Dortmund with Unfavorable Start

Mbappé Continues Scoring Prowess, Zaire-Emery Nets Equalizer

Borussia Dortmund's European campaign commenced with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League Group F encounter on Tuesday. Despite boasting home advantage, the German side failed to capitalize on early dominance and succumbed to a second-half equalizer.

PSG grabbed the initiative early on, with Kylian Mbappé putting the visitors ahead in the 29th minute. The French superstar continued his impressive scoring form, pouncing on a defensive error to slot home from close range.

Dortmund responded well and leveled the scores shortly after the interval. Substitute Soumaïla Coulibaly provided the assist for 18-year-old Youssoufa Moukoko, who coolly finished past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

PSG regained momentum and bombarded Dortmund's goal with a barrage of attacks. Mbappé nearly netted his second goal but was denied by the woodwork. Neymar and Achraf Hakimi also had chances to put the visitors back in front but failed to convert.

Dortmund weathered the storm and held on for a draw, though the result will come as a disappointment considering their dominance in the opening stages. They face a tough task in their next group match against Manchester City on October 4.

PSG, meanwhile, will look to build on their positive start when they host Juventus on the same day.
